Home » Weeks 36-40
Your baby is now the size of a watermelon
and has reached its final stage of development. By 40 weeks you will be considered full-term, and you will soon be ready to give birth!
Your cervix will begin to dilate in preparation for delivery. This may happen a few weeks before delivery, or it might start when you go into labour.
After your baby is delivered, the placenta and other tissues also come out of your body, also known as the afterbirth.
